Despite the fact that there are many studies concerning the topic of linguistical interferences between two languages coexisting in the same speaker community, there are few studies that analyses to what level certain interferences are accepted from the minority language to the dominant one in comparison with the level of use within the individual speaker of the minority language. In this thesis, the main goal is to analyze to what extent interferences from Catalan to the Spanish variety spoken in Catalunya correlate with the level of Catalan spoken within the individual speaker. This also includes the role that the grammatical differences between the items play in favor or difficulty to the interference. The work is analyzed through a questionnaire combining the sociolinguistic data together with the grammatical judgements. The investigation shows that there is a positive correlation in the case of speakers that frequently uses Catalan, punctuated by the grammatical differences in the lexical items involved. Even so, there is no real correlation for speakers that predominantly uses the Spanish language in their daily interactions.
